ABOUT US

EMMA PONSFORD

Feature Factory co-founder Emma Ponsford began her career as a journalist in 1997 when she spent three years working as a reporter on local newspapers in Kent and Sussex before moving into broadcasting in 2000.

But after a year working as a Mercury FM breakfast radio presenter her love of writing won over and she returned to journalism, this time working for a national press agency.

For five years she was a dedicated news and crime reporter covering all of the top stories in the south east for the national press including the Daily Mail, The Sun, the News of the World, The Telegraph and the Sunday Mirror.

In 2006 she joined the news desk of the Daily Star Sunday but after nearly two years, realised she was missing the variety and freedom of being able to work on a wider spectrum of publications and that her real passion was exploring the stories behind the headlines.

That's why in 2007, with the explosion of more women's weeklies hitting the shelves than ever, she channeled her skills, experience and industry contacts into selling real-life stories in the UK to the best-selling national magazines and newspapers.

Emma, who used to write under the surname Shankland before becoming Emma Ponsford in 2007, believes that if you stop anyone on the street and ask the right questions, you will discover  an incredible roller coaster of triumphs and tragedies worthy of the glossy pages of the national press.

Her job is to make that happen for the best possible price as working on all sides of the industry has helped her become one of the top negotiators in the country to ensure the people who sell their stories through Feature Factory are given the best price and are always happy with the results.
